It’s retrospective time again . . . seems like only yesterday that I was doing this as I looked back at 2014!
This time, at year-end, I decided to list a few of my favorite people/places/things, in alphabetical order. Enjoy . . . and happy new year!

Dining for Women –
People ask how I stay so hopeful when I visit places with poverty and need . . . this is my answer. I’m proud to be a Chapter Leader in my community for this successful philanthropic organization that provides grants to well-vetted, already-established NGOs in the developing world that support women’s education, empowerment and health. It’s the best and easiest way to make a significant difference in the world. There’s so many people doing so much good! And I’m thrilled to have been approved as their partner to provide travel programs to the DFW membership later next year!
Facebook –
Some people distrust it because of privacy concerns (which can be managed), but I love how Facebook is a magical connector of people with whom I would otherwise have little to no contact. There are so many good examples but one that comes to mind is a high school classmate who connected with me via Facebook and traveled with me to Cuba this year. That never would have happened without Facebook!

Long(ish) hair –
My Commenters – It’s gratifying to know how many people read this weekly blog (thank you!) . . . and I appreciate those who take time to post comments, especially Julie and Jill!
My CTP Family –
My Decorator –
My Suppliers –
There are so many people all over the world with whom we conspire and collaborate to make the “magic” happen on our journeys. At the risk of omitting someone I’ll mention some memorable and successful collaborations from this year: Lee, Beth, Ana and Grency (Cuba); Beatriz & Victor (Benelux); Captain Rajko, Nelson & Arzu (Turkey); Karla & Bryan (Baja); Thuy (Vietnam); Aye (Myanmar) and my all-time-favorite Irishman, Pat. Thank you all for making us look so good!
My WOWees –
New Places –
I’ve written extensively about Todos Santos, Bruges, Amsterdam and Myanmar, all of which were new discoveries this year. Another special place was the island of Symi in Greece – just about as idyllic as it gets.
Old places –
Cappadocia and Cuba . . . I cannot get enough of these places. I will be back!

Thanks for reading! Wishing you and yours a fun-filled, adventurous, travel-happy new year!
