Depart the US on an overnight flight to Casablanca, Morocco.
Welcome to Morocco! We’ll enjoy the afternoon on our own, followed with a welcome cocktail in the evening prior to a welcome dinner celebration to kick off our journey!
After a short walking tour, including the impressive Hassan II Mosque, we’ll head to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, to visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and explore the Kasbah. We’ll continue to the imperial city of Meknes (UNESCO). Upon our arrival in Fes, we’ll feast on a dinner of traditional Moroccan delights!
We’ll spend the day discovering Fes, one of the holiest cities in the world. Learn of its historical importance as a center of government, philosophy, medicine, and religion. We’ll explore the cobbled alleyways of the ancient medina, see donkeys and mules laden with goods, and spend time at the famous leather tanneries, a honeycomb of vats exploding in brilliant colors.
Early wake up and breakfast on the way to beautiful Erfoud. We’ll learn about MonkeyWatch, a program dedicated to protecting the Barbary Macaques. Continue through the Ziz canyons, providing spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains.
Make our way to the Sahara Desert via the Saharaoui town of Rissani. Make the last part of the journey in 4×4’s where we transfer to camels for the sunset ride to our private, luxury nomad camp – exclusive for the WOW! Travel Club. Relax in the tranquility of the dunes. As night falls, listen to intoxicating Berber drums during the traditional pouring of mint tea followed by a delightful Moroccan feast. Celebrate with Mother Nature as she regales us with a glorious full moon!
After breakfast in the desert, we’ll begin the journey to Todra Gorge. Spend time in the Jewish quarter and enjoy a crash-course in Berber culture. We’ll follow the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” along its river valleys, palm groves and burnished mud-brick homes that light up in the desert sun.
We’ll head to Marrakech, but along the way visit one of the most spectacular fortresses in Morocco – Ksar Ait-Ben-Haddou, the site of the famous film, “Lawrence of Arabia”. Continue along the High Atlas Mountains following a scenic route through lush valleys, imposing mountains and several Berber villages before you reach the exotic city of Marrakech.
Explore Marrakech and its ancient El Bahia Palace where a sentry of nesting storks stand guard. Enter the royal Saadian Tombs, explore the vibrant and historic Jewish Mellah, and see the majestic 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque. Tour the ancient city wall, passing by the Royal Palace. Enter the 9th-century walled Medina and enjoy mingling with locals and artisans as you shop at the ancient market. We’ll enjoy a special treat – a tour of this exotic city at night!
Today we venture to the Atlantic Coast to the Portuguese city of Essaouira, an enchanting, laid-back alternative to the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. The town’s name means “little picture” in Arabic, and it certainly lives up to its name, with a vibrant blue-and-white “medina,” medieval ramparts and imposing stone gates. We’ll enjoy lunch and some time to explore this beautiful seaside city, then return to Marrakech for a leisurely dinner on own.
Our final full day in Morocco! This morning, we’ll select ingredients for our culinary workshop – enjoying the fruits of our labor at our lunchtime feast at a local riad. This afternoon we’ll explore the Jardin Majorelle – a visual feast of Moroccan Blue and botanical treasures. Tonight we’ll celebrate our final night with a gala dinner celebration as we say farewell to our North African home away from home.

Rates:
All rates quoted are based on tariffs and exchange rates in effect as of March 11, 2019, and are subject to change. Rates are based on a minimum group size of 16 paying guests. Should the group size(s) be smaller than this, package price or inclusions may be modified. Unused tour items, missed meals or activities, etc. are not refundable.
Tips And Taxes:
The package includes all service charges and taxes imposed by hotels and all entrance fees to museums, etc. Basic gratuities to drivers, guides and porters are included. You are welcome to extend additional gratuities for anyone who has provided exemplary service.

You must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of re-entry to your home country.
Health / Vaccinations:
There are no unusual requirements for Moroccan travel. However, you may wish to consult your physician for recommendations. Additional information regarding Traveler’s Health precautions is available at the website for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Final travel documents will be sent to your mailing address about two weeks prior to departure.

For the most part the weather will range from the low to mid 70’s during the day, low to mid 50’s at night. Temperatures may vary between the cities, mountains, desert, and coast, but not dramatically.
If you must stay connected during your trip, Wi-Fi is free and reliable almost everywhere on this journey.
International airfare is not included in the package. CTP can assist you with making reservations for a service fee of $75 per person.
There is no need for formal attire; comfortable, casual clothing and shoes are suggested. It is suggested that women wear conservative clothing in public places: women should ensure that their clothes do not expose the décolletage, shoulders, or thighs. This same principal applies to menswear.
For Morocco there are two associated plug types, types C and E. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type E is the plug which has two round pins and a hole for the socket’s male earthing pin. Morocco operates on a 220V supply voltage and 50Hz.
With most providers, it’s best to activate an international data and telephone plan. We suggest that you contact your carrier to discuss potential costs for data and voice communications.
We’d highly recommend you make the most out of your travel time by extending your stay either in Morocco, surrounding countries, or even Europe. From Morocco there are numerous, inexpensive flights to most European hubs. Many travelers combine Morocco with an extension in Spain/Portugal, Paris, or even London.
Moroccan Dirham are used throughout all of Morocco. We suggest using ATM machines to withdraw local currency as needed and use your credit or debit card to pay for meals, taxis and purchases. (Some shops and restaurants do not accept American Express.) It’s best to advise your bank and credit card company of your plans to travel to Morocco so there will be no suspicion of fraudulent activity. Ask about transaction fees.
