What will the weather be like?
June is the PERFECT time to visit New Mexico! Daily high temperatures range from 76°F to 83°F, rarely falling below 67°F or exceeding 90°F. Daily low temperatures range from 46°F to 54°F, rarely falling below 40°F or exceeding 59°F.
What should I wear?
Dress casually and comfortably. We don’t have any formal events on our itinerary, however, there are some nice restaurants that you may choose to visit during your free time so may wish to bring an outfit for such an occasion. Other than that, we’ll be doing a bit of mild hiking and walking. Be sure to bring your broke-in comfortable shoes. Layers are the name of the game when it comes to clothing.
Anything special I should know?
Santa Fe sits at 7,000 feet elevation. While this elevation does not generally cause symptoms associated with High Altitude Illness, it’s good to be aware of and behave accordingly. At 7,000 feet altitude the air pressure is lower and this means there is less oxygen available to your body when you breath. It’s good to take it easy and don’t push yourself to hard. It’s also important to stay hydrated and watch alcohol intake. Most travelers don’t have any adverse effects associated with the altitude.
What about airfare?
Airfare is not included in the package. We can assist with reservations for a service fee of $50 per person. (Service fee is waived for WOW! Travel Club and Women on the Go alumni.)
Can I use my cell phone in New Mexico?
With most providers, New Mexico is part of the plan and will have the same restrictions or allowances for data, texts, and calls. We encourage you to check with your provider if you have any questions.
What about travel insurance?
We recommend insurance to cover financial penalties if you need to cancel your trip. Information will be provided upon receipt of deposit. Here are links to a travel insurance providers: Travel Guard.
