‘Tis the season . . . for photo books.
In the process, I decided to dedicate this week’s blog to publishing my favorite photos – one for each month. (This is a tough assignment for a perfectionist.) Some months, there could have been 12 good choices. Other months, less so.
I wanted to cheat, but I didn’t. Here goes:
January 31, 2015 ~ Inle Lake, Myanmar. The net of an Intha fisherman is reflected in the setting sun.
February 22, 2015 ~ Rancho Pescadero, Baja, Mexico. Stunning, sensational sunset.
February 22, 2015 ~ Rancho Pescadero, Baja, Mexico. Stunning, sensational sunset.
April 8, 2015 ~ Bruges, Belgium. I added the country of Belgium to my travel resume this year, and fell madly in love with the medieval city of Bruges. Without a tripod or professional camera gear, I was thrilled to have captured such a dramatic night scene as this.
May 30, 2015 ~ Thousand Oaks, California. There’s no place like home … especially on a lazy Memorial Day weekend as Poe the cat keeps watch over Scott as he takes a midday snooze on our back patio!
June 10, 2015 ~ Ephesus, Turkey. This photo of me and Gabriel (my VP) captures – as much as it was possible to capture – the overwhelming joy of having surprised our WOW! Travel Club group with a surprise sunset classical music concert at the ancient Odeon Theatre.
July 25, 2015 ~ Los Angeles, California. I’d always wanted to attend the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics . . . so when I learned that the Special Olympics’ World Games were to be held in LA this summer, I crossed another one off my bucket list. The motto: “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
August 25, 2015 – Thousand Oaks, California. It’s been a 16-year tradition when my niece, Seiko, visits me from Japan: we will go shopping. I remember when she was little and everything she chose was pink and frilly. This time, she wanted to try on prom dresses, which is not a tradition in Japan. She was beaming when she put on this dress!
September 12, 2015 ~ Thousand Oaks, California. Another sky shot? (I didn’t travel or take many photos in September!) This was a stunning sunrise from my back yard.
October 22, 2015 ~ Havana, Cuba. This photo captures much of what I love about Cuba: the classic cars, crumbling architecture and colorful laundry flapping in the breeze.
November 7, 2015 ~ Sylmar, California. November was a “stay at home” month – getting ready for a kitchen remodel. In my search for countertop surfacing, I found this “Calacatta Extra WOW” which, naturally, caught my attention. The owner of the stoneyard described it as a “flawless diamond.” At $9,000 per slab – you’ll not see it in my kitchen!
December 13, 2015 ~ Todos Santos, Baja, Mexico. A cactus discovered on hiking excursion along the cliffs. I named it Mr. WOW!
Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season of memory-making. (Don’t forget to take pictures!)

I so enjoyed looking at these wonderful photos – including the runners up! I remember seeing many of these before, and of course… Ephesus!!! Hard to believe you can ever top that, but then, again, you’re YOU, so maybe you can!
